Facebook expels a running club for "excess" of sex

Facebook expulsa a un club de atletismo por «exceso» de sexo

Sexitano Athletics Club, a club dedicated to the sport in Almuñécar (Granada), could not be opened for Facebook because the social network has considered that the name has a sexual connotation. Following this, the sports team had to promote a different name to access an account.

Manuel Alonso, the club treasurer, said that is not the first time the club has such problems. Some time ago changed their name to "Prudence to run" to promote themselves through Facebook, but a few days ago tried again with his real name but "no way".

"It did not matter to put a space between the letters 'sexitano' or will place an 'h', at no time was possible," explained Alonso. "I guess the Facebook policy prevents there is a 'sexy' in the name and in Silicon Valley know nothing of Almuñecar and Phoenician origin," he added the club treasurer. And, to the citizens of Almuñecar, they are known as sexitanos. In addition, the club manages Municipal School Athletics city and has over sixty riders.

Finally, the club was forced to use the 'c' and got his page on Facebook under the name "Athletics Çexitano." "We must defend our history, our identity, but of course, now there looks to Silicon Valley, Zuckerberg looks and talk of Almuñécar, say that according to the literary tradition was the first point of contact with the Phoenicians southern coast the Iberian Peninsula. Tell Seks that the name or Ex includes an archaeological complex consisting of three necropolis here. And from that place name is Sexy, name by which he was known during the Phoenician and Roman period, and which derives the present sexitano adjective, which coexists with the usual Almuñecar less "joked the treasurer.
