Matthew Scannapieco, the notoriously degenerate previous chairman of Marlboro, N.J., is back in jail, this time for assaulting the offspring of a relative over a three-year period, starting when the young lady was 6.
The 71-year-old ex-legislator is booked to
be sentenced on Sept. 4 in Delaware. He has conceded to charges of second-degree assault, first-degree sexual contact and over and again sexually manhandling a youngster.
He could spend whatever is left of his life in jail, The News Journal reported.
Scannapieco is "nauseated with himself," as indicated by his lawyer, Andrew Rosen. He faces up to 58 years in jail.
Scannapieco was a Republican chairman in Monmouth County from 1992 to 2003. He confessed in 2005 to tolerating influences from land designers totaling about $250,000 and to cheating the IRS.
He was detained from 2008 to 2010. He moved to Delaware for "a new beginning," Rosen said.
It was not clear how Scannapieco was identified with his kid casualty. The young lady enlightened her mother regarding the misuse in June 2014, and the mother reached police.
He was captured last August, and conceded in May, the paper reported.
