Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, candidates for UEFA Best Player

The Argentine Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez are the three finalists nominated to Award UEFA Best Player in Europe of the 2014-15 season, with a winner to be announced on August 27.


Journalists from 54 countries were given a list of your top five players

Journalists from each of the 54 UEFA member associations gave a list of your top five players, with the first receiving five points, the second four, and so on. The ten players with the most points agreed at the second ballot, which on Wednesday has left the list of the three finalists: two players from Barcelona and
Real Madrid each.

Now, the jury will issue their votes among the finalists to meet the winner during the draw for the group stage of the 2015-16 Champions League to be held in Monaco on Thursday 27 August.

So far the players who have been awarded the prize of UEFA were Messi (2011), Andres Iniesta (2012), Franck Ribery (2013) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2014).

Thus, Messi and Cristiano aspire to his second award and Luis Suarez the first after shining in his first season at Barcelona.

In fourth place was the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, finalist in the last edition of the Champions League with Juventus. The Brazilian Neymar was fifth.

After Spanish players among the top 35: Andres Iniesta (14), Alvaro Morata (15) and Sergio Ramos (33).
