Man Arrested using a dove for drug trafficking

Detienen en Costa Rica a una paloma por tráfico de drogas
A pigeon was captured in Costa Rica when carrying drugs to prisoners at La Reforma prison, the largest in the country, and remains caged in a care center for animals, officials said.

The "narcopaloma" as it was dubbed by
the press, was found last Tuesday with a bag tied to one leg with 14 grams of cocaine and 14 grams of marijuana in a courtyard of the prison, located 20 kilometers west of the capital.

The pigeon was taken to ZooAve Animal Rescue Center, where he remains under observation of veterinary caged.

"We have it under observation for the moment we see no anomaly. Has not eaten anything but that's a matter of time, she is a little nervous about everything that's happened, you have to give a little time to get back to normal, "said Aleyda Mendez, head of the ZooAve, quoted by the local newspaper" The nation".

The concern is that caregivers, should be freed, the dove could return to La Reforma, where he was trained to carry and bring orders.

The disclosure of the news sparked a flurry of comments on social networks, from animal rights advocates to pranksters making jokes about the new form of drug trafficking.
