Obama Appoints Brett McGurk as new envoy to the coalition against EI

The president, Barack Obama, announced today the appointment of Brett McGurk as his new special envoy for the international coalition formed to fight the jihadist Islamic State (EI).

McGurk replaced from next month retired Gen. John Allen, who serves as Obama's special envoy to the coalition since September 2014.
